Metallic sheen. Blooms of color. Shimmering patina. Pebbled surfaces. In the rustle of shantung and the whisper of chiffon. Le Studio Anthost transforms fabric into precious material imbued with mystery and magic, material that invites touch, imparts elegance and inspires fantasy. Sumptuous, bold, diaphanous, embellished: the studio’s materials stir the senses. By handcrafting surfaces with uncommon techniques, the studio offers designers infinite possibilities to enhance their creations and collections.
Raised in Paris and descended from French nobility, Astrid de Saint Anthost learned the basis of her craft at Atelier Dynale, whose clients included Gianfranco Ferré and John Galliano at Dior, Alexander McQueen at Givenchy and Christian Lacroix. In 1997, Astrid journeyed to New York. Thriving off her new city’s energy, she soon established Le Studio Anthost. Since then, she has allied her workshop—now located in Greenpoint, Brooklyn—with New York’s most distinguished designers. Astrid’s work appeared in Arbiters of Style: Women at the Forefront of Fashion, an exhibit on the historical significance of women designers and tastemakers, at the Museum at FIT in 2008.
